Bài viết này phân tích mối quan hệ phức hợp giữa hai lĩnh vực này qua các tiếp cận xã hội học, tâm lý học, nhân học và hiện tượng luận. Tác giả cho thấy tôn giáo không tồn tại bên ngoài bối cảnh văn hóa, đồng thời mọi nền văn hóa đều tiềm tàng các chiều kích tôn giáo. Từ quan điểm của các học giả như Comte, Marx, Durkheim, Weber, Freud, Jung, James, đến Geertz và Eliade, bài viết khảo sát vai trò của tôn giáo trong việc điều phối cấu trúc xã hội, định hình đời sống tâm linh, kiến tạo mạng lưới văn hóa và ngôn ngữ biểu tượng, cũng như mang lại kinh nghiệm thánh thiêng. Đặc biệt, bài viết nhấn mạnh tiến trình hội nhập văn hóa trong bối cảnh Việt Nam, nơi các ngôn ngữ “Trời” và “Deus” giao thoa, tạo nên nền văn hóa Kitô giáo bản địa. Kết luận khẳng định rằng đức tin Kitô giáo tự thân là một nền văn hóa, góp phần định hình lối sống và căn tính nhân loại.
Abstract
The paper explores the complex interplay between these two domains through sociological, psychological, anthropological, and phenomenological perspectives. The author argues that religion never exists outside cultural contexts, while every culture implicitly carries religious dimensions. Drawing on thinkers such as Comte, Marx, Durkheim, Weber, Freud, Jung, James, Geertz, and Eliade, the study examines how religion structures society, shapes spiritual life, builds cultural networks and symbolic language, and mediates experiences of the sacred. Special attention is given to inculturation in the Vietnamese context, where the linguistic traditions of “Trời” and “Deus” converge to form a distinctive Christian culture. The article concludes that Christian faith is intrinsically a culture in itself, offering a worldview that shapes human values, behaviors, and identity.
