Thiên Chúa tự tỏ mình ra cho con người, và con người đáp lại trong đức tin. Kinh nghiệm của dân Ít-ra-en trong cuộc xuất hành cho thấy lời đáp lại trong đức tin đối với Đức Chúa cần thiết phải được đặt nền trên việc họ nhận ra và thấm thía được rằng Đức Chúa là Thiên Chúa duy nhất hằng đối xử với họ hết mực từ bi. Chính mối tương quan cá vị với Thiên Chúa là điểm then chốt cho sự đáp trả trong kính tin và tuân phục của họ đối với Ngài. Theo đó, được Chúa chọn là một hồng ân. Đoạn trình thuật Đnl 4,31-40 sẽ làm nổi bật điều này.
Trong bài viết này, đầu tiên là phân tích khung cảnh và cấu trúc bản văn Đnl 4,31-40. Kế đến là phần phân tích và triển khai các chủ đề: (1) Thiên Chúa rất mực từ bi; (2) Mối tương quan của Đức Chúa với dân Ít-ra-en mà Chúa chọn; (3) Dân Ít-ra-en đáp lại Đức Chúa. Cuối cùng là phần suy tư và phản tỉnh thần học về ơn ban đức tin và lời mời gọi mỗi người hãy sống đức tin ấy cách sống động, và triển nở không ngừng tương quan thiết thân với Đức Chúa.
Being Chosen by God is a Gift - Analysis of the Deuteronomy 4:31-40
Abstract
God reveals himself to man, and the man responds in faith. The Israelites' experience during the exodus shows that the faith response to God needed to be based on their recognition and appreciation that God was the only eternal God who treated them with the utmost compassion. Their personal relationship with God is the key to their godly and obedient response to Him. Accordingly, being chosen by God is a gift. The account of Deuteronomy 4:31-40 will highlight this.
In this article, the first is to analyze the context and structure of the text of Deuteronomy 4:31-40. Next is the analysis and development of the following topics: (1) God is very compassionate; (2) God's relationship with God's chosen people of Israel; (3) The Israelites responded to the Lord. Finally, there is a theological reflection and reflection on the gift of faith and an invitation to each person to live that faith alive and develop a constant close relationship with God.
