Bài viết phân tích quan hệ giữa tự do và bình đẳng trong lý thuyết công bình của John Rawls, đồng thời đối chiếu với định hướng luân lý-xã hội của Fratelli Tutti. Nghiên cứu sử dụng phân tích văn bản triết học-chính trị kết hợp đối sánh chuẩn tắc các khái niệm: vị thế ban đầu, bức màn vô minh, tự do căn bản, bình đẳng cơ hội công bằng và nguyên tắc khác biệt. Rawls bảo vệ ưu tiên của các quyền tự do nền tảng và chỉ chấp nhận bất bình đẳng kinh tế-xã hội khi chúng cải thiện tình trạng của nhóm yếu thế nhất. Đặt trong đối thoại với Fratelli Tutti, công bình được mở rộng từ phân phối thể chế sang chiều kích liên vị, huynh đệ và liên đới. Một mô hình công bình bền vững cần kết hợp công bằng thể chế với trách nhiệm đạo đức nhằm bảo vệ phẩm giá phổ quát và thiện ích chung.
Abstract
This article analyzes the relationship between freedom and equality in John Rawls’s theory of justice and places it in dialogue with the moral-social vision of Fratelli Tutti. It applies philosophical-political textual analysis and normative comparison, focusing on the original position, the veil of ignorance, equal basic liberties, fair equality of opportunity, and the difference principle. The study finds that Rawls gives lexical priority to fundamental liberties and allows socio-economic inequalities only when they improve the ondition of the least advantaged. In conversation with Fratelli Tutti, justice is broadened from institutional distribution to interpersonal responsibility, fraternity, and solidarity. A sustainable account of social justice should integrate institutional fairness with ethical commitment, so that liberty and equality are realized within a shared horizon of universal human dignity and the common good. This integration strengthens justice in pluralistic societies and guides policy toward inclusion and moral accountability.
