Bài viết hướng đến một thần học quân bình về Thập Giá, nhấn mạnh phương pháp đọc–hiểu hơn là triển khai toàn bộ nội dung. Trước các phê phán cho rằng Thập Giá nuôi dưỡng yếm thế hoặc bạo lực, tác giả kêu gọi tái khám phá ý nghĩa Thập Giá trong đối thoại với kinh nghiệm nhân sinh. Bài viết phác thảo năm nguyên tắc: (1) đặt nền trên Thánh Kinh và bối cảnh hiện tại; (2) diễn tả các phạm trù cứu độ “từ trên xuống” và “từ dưới lên” với vai trò trung gian của Đức Kitô; (3) hiểu Thập Giá trong tương quan vừa liên tục vừa “bất liên tục” với Nhập Thể, đời sống–sứ vụ và Phục Sinh; (4) lưu ý chiều kích Ba Ngôi; (5) phân định trách nhiệm của Thiên Chúa, Đức Giêsu và con người để tránh “đoản mạch” trong giải thích.
Abstract
The article aims to develop a balanced theology of the Cross, emphasizing a sound interpretive method rather than an exhaustive account of soteriological content. In response to modern critiques that the Cross fosters defeatism or even legitimizes violence, the author argues for rediscovering its meaning through dialogue with contemporary human experience. Five guiding principles are outlined: (1) grounding reflection in Scripture while remaining attentive to the present context; (2) articulating both “top-down” and “bottom-up” soteriological categories with Christ’s mediating role at the center; (3) interpreting the Cross within a relationship that is both continuous and “discontinuous” with the Incarnation, Jesus’ life and mission, and the Resurrection; (4) attending to the Trinitarian dimension of the Cross; and (5) clearly distinguishing the responsibilities of God, Jesus, and human beings to avoid a “short-circuit” in explanation.
