Bài viết này khảo sát lại ý nghĩa mới mẻ của sứ vụ truyền giáo sau đại dịch COVID-19 dưới ánh sáng Thông điệp Fratelli Tutti của Đức Giáo hoàng Phanxicô về tình huynh đệ nhân loại và tình bạn xã hội. Tác giả lập luận rằng đại dịch đã bộc lộ sự mong manh của nền văn minh hiện đại và thúc đẩy nhu cầu cấp thiết về một thế giới nhân ái, bao dung và đối thoại hơn. Dựa trên các suy tư thần học, bài viết nhận định rằng tình huynh đệ phổ quát không chỉ là lý tưởng đạo đức mà còn là thách thức cốt lõi cho sứ vụ của Giáo hội ngày nay. Truyền giáo cần chuyển từ quyền lực và áp đặt sang đối thoại và liên đới, đặc biệt với người nghèo và bị loại trừ. Tình huynh đệ chính là sứ điệp và phương pháp truyền giáo trong thế giới đương đại.
Abstract
This paper explores the renewed significance of evangelization in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic through the lens of Fratelli Tutti, Pope Francis’s encyclical on human fraternity and social friendship. It argues that the pandemic has revealed the fragility of modern civilization and the urgent need to build a more compassionate, inclusive, and dialogical world. Drawing on theological reflections, the paper identifies universal brotherhood not only as a moral ideal but as a central challenge for the Church's missionary activity today. Evangelization, it asserts, must shift from power and proselytization to dialogue and solidarity, especially with the poor and marginalized. The mission of the Church in the post-pandemic world thus involves fostering a culture of encounter, rebuilding human relationships based on love and humility, and embracing a preferential option for the poor. Ultimately, fraternity becomes both the message and method of evangelization in our contemporary context.
