The Catholic Views on "Silent Reflection During Mass"

Abstract

The article focuses on the importance of silence in the Holy Mass and the current situation in religious communities and parishes in Saigon. Through a survey of 100 people, the majority (85%) recognize the importance of maintaining silence during the Holy Mass. However, only 60% actually adhere to it. The identified reasons are external noise, the habit of using phones, and the lack of awareness among some attendees. To improve this situation, the article proposes solutions such as strengthening the dissemination of the importance of silence, implementing measures to remind people to maintain order and reduce noise, and encouraging the faithful to cultivate internal silence to facilitate focus during the Holy Mass. The author asserts that silence is a crucial factor in creating a sacred and reverent atmosphere for the Holy Mass. Every Catholic needs to be aware of the importance of maintaining silence and take specific actions to contribute to creating a solemn atmosphere, helping everyone easily unite with God during the Holy Mass.
