The life of Father Stephen The Tam Nguyen Khac Duong can be described as a struggle with the anxieties and restlessness that, as Saint Augustine said, "God has made us for Himself, and our hearts are restless until they rest in Him." Within him, there is always a longing that needs to be fulfilled. This longing he dedicates his entire life to seek. Reading through his memoir, we encounter not just the events, the twists and turns, the ordinary or extraordinary incidents of his life; rather, throughout his life, he emanates a profound longing, a fierce struggle, a restless endeavor to find the meaning of his life, to save his own life. Particularly, the true joy of Father Stephen lies in discovering the source of happiness, finding the meaning of life, and the salvation of his life in the love of Jesus Christ. All these journeys in his life, as a witness, strengthen and enhance our faith in Jesus Christ, the Savior of humanity.
