Introduction

Abstract

Dear readers,

This issue is called Magis, which means "more", "towards". This is the opening issue of the Magis Theological Journal of the Jesuit Institute of St. Joseph.

With the desire to create an intellectual living environment for theological students (divine students) at the Academy, Magis chooses to publish personal research articles that are highly appreciated by professors and have the potential to reach. Serious academic level. These articles are originally collected articles at the end of each subject, selected and contributed to journals, so they do not follow a certain topic by themselves. Their content revolves around three specific areas: biblical exegesis, Christian ethics, and social criticism. These are certainly not in-depth and exhaustive studies, but they are fundamental exercises in scholarly research, providing the impetus for later efforts to question and express the profound truths of the faith. Therefore, Magis promises to be an incubator for the thoughts of the gods to be nurtured and sprouted.

Magis is the result of the Academy's academic research in terms of education and training. To the professors, Magis commends the hard work of teachers, now bearing fruit. Magis shows that personal thoughts and opinions are appreciated when presented in a systematic and scholarly manner for the divinities. With the school, Magis makes a small contribution to enriching the Academy's academic resources. So it can be said that through Magis, the Academy wants to highlight the effectiveness of the Jesuit academic education that is being applied at this institution: "with a serious and prestigious academic tradition; has a solid and well-versed doctrine on the pedagogy of personal accompaniment in discerning knowledge."

In that perspective, the Editorial Board would like to introduce Magis Theological Journal to all of you, hoping that it will bring you valuable things, meaningful and inspirational sharing. We look forward to receiving your support and encouragement so that Magis can be steadily increased in number, becoming more and more "More" as its name is Magis.
