Abstract

This study investigates the religious transformation of Catholic individuals after joining the Legion of Mary (Legio) at Lai Thieu Parish, Phu Cuong Diocese. Through in-depth interviews, surveys, and document analysis, the study reveals a shift from extrinsic to intrinsic religiosity among members. Prior to joining, many participants had irregular participation in Mass, prayer, and sacramental life. After joining Legio, members reported strengthened Eucharistic devotion, deeper prayer life, improved character, increased charitable acts, and stronger community bonds. The research highlights how structured meetings, spiritual guidance from chaplains, and communal activities helped members foster discipline, inner peace, and love for Mary and Jesus. The Legion of Mary emerges as a transformative space for spiritual renewal and lay apostolic engagement, promoting both personal sanctification and missionary zeal.
