Evangelization is not merely the proclamation of the kerygma (prophetic evangelization) but also resonates with liturgical elements (priestly evangelization) and dimensions of charity (royal evangelization). When seeking effective methods to carry out the New Evangelization, we cannot neglect the liturgical aspect, particularly the celebration of the Eucharist and the dynamics inherent in the liturgical calendar of the Church. From this perspective, the article presents fundamental opportunities provided by liturgical realities for evangelizing believers as well as others who may happen to be present at, or observing, liturgical celebrations. The article identifies tensions between liturgical norms and the demands of evangelization, highlighting various moments during the Mass, sacramental liturgies, or other aspects of the liturgical year that remain underdeveloped. The author pinpoints specific challenges for liturgical evangelization and proposes practical solutions to address these challenges. This discussion embodies a Eucharistic and liturgical spirituality essential to the Church’s renewal in the post-Vatican II era.References
