Abstract

The 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, convened by Pope Francis, concluded with a renewed call for a synodal Church—one marked by communion, participation, and mission. This article explores the essence of synodality and its spiritual dimension, emphasizing how it embodies the Church’s nature as the People of God journeying together to proclaim the Gospel. Rooted in the early Church, synodality entails the active engagement of all faithful, regardless of vocation or mission, through the transformative power of the Holy Spirit. Furthermore, the paper examines how consecrated persons can contribute to synodal spirituality by their witness of presence and dialogue in contemporary Vietnamese society. The discussion highlights the challenges and opportunities for living out synodality amidst individualism and secularism. By understanding and practicing synodal spirituality, all members of the Church can participate in its mission to bring hope and renewal to humanity.
