Proposing Some "Synodal" Leadership Styles for Communities in the Church of Vietnam

The article highlights that in the synodal process of the Church, traditional forms of governance that focus on power and authority are no longer suitable. There is a need to identify and adopt modern leadership styles to collaboratively fulfill a shared mission effectively, in line with the goals of “communion – participation – mission” of this process. The proposed leadership styles that align with the spirit of synodality include Servant Leadership, Spiritual Leadership, Transformational Leadership, Authentic Leadership, and Discerning Leadership. These leadership styles invite active participation from all members, utilizing authority and leadership to accomplish the common mission more effectively, guided by the principle of “journeying together.”References
